Kaukau Challenge 1st November 2009
Kaukau Challenge Course Information
We have been sent some great information on the Kaukau Challenge course, the first of which is a map of the course, below.
The second is an elevation profile of the course.
Thanks so much for sending these in - any more cool stuff you might have that will help support the Kaukau Challenge would be greatfully accepted.
Mount Kaukau Information
Links to information about Mount Kaukau on the internet.
- Erwan Hemery's Kiwi Tramping site - good facts and figures, and there's a map and even an altitude profile
- Wikipedia - a very short entry on the internet's largest free online encyclopedia
- Kaukau Time! - according to this blog "Kaukau" is a pidgin slang word meaning "food" or "to eat". The two theories on the origin of the word "kaukau" are the Hawaiian word for table, pâkaukau, and the Chinese word for food, chow chow. Maybe you will have enough points in the bank to try some of the 'sometimes food' recipes on this blog after taking the Kaukau Challenge!
Thank you for helping us to make the Kaukau Challenge and Family Gala a day to be remembered.
